This introduction course will take students through the basics of classic oil painting using water soluble oil paints.

This introduction course will take students through the basics of classic oil painting using water soluble oil paints. We will start with an underpainting, and then gradually build that up through different layers to create a beautiful still-life. For beginners or those who have experience painting with acrylics but not oils, this is a great class to start learning how to set up an oil painting properly. Learn more about composition, colour mixing, various paint application techniques and glazing. Water soluble oils and mediums can be mixed and cleaned with water, so no stinky solvents or toxic fumes. Wear art appropriate clothes.

Students should bring an apron, a sketchbook, and a pencil. Price includes all other materials.
